Not sure which air ride system is best for my application.
« on: 07/01/09, 06:34 PM »

Hi all. I just wanted to ask a question about my 1987 Chevrolet Silverado. It's a half ton, two wheel drive automatic. (longbed, if that matters). What I would like to know is, what is the best setup for

A. Softening the ride. I want to make the ride quality way better.

B. Still getting to keep my 1/2 ton capabilities,

C. Here's the hard part, staying at 100% stock ride height.

I know a lot of yall like to lower your trucks, but that's just not my bag of bones i guess. Im kind of a tall guy and i already have a lowered mustang. It's nice to be able to have a truck that is not so hard to get in and out of lol. What i really want out of it is the much softer ride quality of bags. The other two are just things that i also need to happen if i am going to be able to use an air ride system. If it's going to lower the truck even 1/2 of an inch than i guess i can't use it. But i was hoping someone around here could think of a way to get all of the benefits without having to lower it or lose any of it's towing capacity. Can you recommend a certain kit? On another website, someone has already said that it sounds like a cantilever setup (not really sure what that is) would be best for this application. Thoughts? Ideas?
