S-10 Transmission Crossmember Fix

Some guys bag their ride so they can drag frame.  But what happens when you have crossmembers that hang below the frame, such as on the late model S-10's?  Dragging them can cause serious damage to your drivetrain and even frame so you must be cautious when driving around.  Getting these crossmembers above the scrub line (above the bottom of the frame rails) is a good idea regardless of if you want to drag frame or not.  It can prevent damage in the long run.  This article will discuss modifying the transmission crossmember that hangs down below the frame on late model v6 S-10s.

I believe its the same on all S10s, regardless of engine or tranny. But I can't guarantee that statement.

i think the best way if to take your crossmember and flip it from the bottom of the frame to over the frame rail...its not to hard just a little fab work...i have done this on quite a few dimes for customers...

I thought about that recently because I had seen someone with a crossmember that went over the exhaust instead of under, but I thought it was just because it was an '89 S10.
(broken link removed)

But this second one is a '95.
